D. Barret Broussard is the Immediate President of Stonewall Bar Association (SBA), and he has been a member of the SBA since he was a first-year law student in 2010. He joined the Board of Directors in 2016, and previously served as Co-Chair of the Law Student Outreach Committee and as Vice President/President-Elect, and President. Barret also serves on the Atlanta Leadership Council for Lambda Legal, serves on the advisory board of the OUT Foundation and is a member of the LEAD Atlanta Class of 2018. He was recognized as one of the most powerful leaders in Atlanta in the Atlanta 500 by Atlanta Magazine, one of the most influential LGBTQ+ people in Georgia by the OUT Georgia Business Alliance, and as the Best Lawyer by the readers of the Georgia Voice.

Barret is the Principal Attorney at Broussard Law LLC. He advocates for clients in the areas of business negotiations, business litigation, and personal injury and catastrophic loss. Barret has wide ranging experience counseling clients on matters involving contract and business disputes, fraud, tortious interference, insurance coverage, and intellectual property infringements. Prior to private practice, Barret was a staff attorney for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, where he assisted the court at large in resolving appeals. During law school, Barret worked for judges on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, and the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal.

Barret graduated with honors from Emory Law School in 2013. He served as the Executive Articles Editor of the Emory Law Journal and as Co-President of Emory OUTLaw. He also worked as a teaching assistant for the Advanced Legal Writing and Editing Course, and he received the Myron Penn Laughlin Award for Excellence in Legal Research and Writing from the Emory Law Journal for his student comment. Before law school, Barret graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in psychology and a minor in philosophy.
